OPENING THE WORLD'S BEST SINGLE CASK SINGLE MALT TD0112 - the winning whisky, poured at home for one evening

Earlier this year, a single cask from our bond store was named World's Best Single Cask Single Malt Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards in London - the fourth time the world's judges have placed Sullivans Cove at the very top.

The judging happened on the other side of the world. The cask was filled, nurtured and bottled right here.

TD0112, a French Oak ex-white wine single cask, sold out long ago - the remaining bottles live in collectors' cabinets around the world. But we kept a little back, and there's nowhere we'd rather open it than home. For one evening during Tasmanian Whisky Week - at our distillery, in the place that made it, among the people closest to it - we will.

Hosted by Distillery Manager Heather Tillott, this seated tasting moves through a curated flight of our wine cask whiskies before arriving at TD0112 itself - a conversation, glass by glass, about how Australian whisky has been shaped not by imitation of tradition, but by our own wine culture: the fortifieds, the regions, the casks, the climate. The evening also marks the homecoming of the World Whiskies Awards trophy to Tasmania.
