American Oak Second-Fill
18 Year Old American Oak Second-Fill Single Cask TD0033 was filled in September 2005 and decanted in September 2023, for a maturation of 18 years.
After such a long maturation, this 200L American oak second-fill cask yielded only 169 bottles at 47.3% ABV.
Boasting a depth and refinement that can only come with age, our Old & Rare American Oak single casks are matured for a minimum of sixteen years. Aside from the notes of vanilla, caramel, coconut, fruit, and subtle white floral and herbal nuances, these whiskies are hugely textural with incredible complexity and length of palate.
As single cask bottlings, every tiny batch is different, expressing the unique characteristics of each barrel. Each bottle comes in a handmade, solid oak presentation box, and includes a letter of authenticity signed by our Distillery Manager.

TASTING NOTES
-
Nose
A walk through a rich, toasty oak forest, with the deep scent of seasoned timber leading the way. Sweet undertones mingle with a bright, piney spice, balanced by layers of oak complexity and warming vanillin. It's like roasting tea leaves among rain-soaked rose petals, with a breeze of lavender and spearmint. Earthy notes of Brazil nuts and Anzac biscuits mix with the distinct crunch of Ginger Nut biscuits, while Fantales, caramelised Crème Brûlée, and sweet panna cotta with raspberry coulis add a luscious sweetness. Hints of dark chocolate spice and the faint smokiness of a cigar wrapper drift in, underscored by milk and honey soap, caramel toffee, tonka beans, and delicate wattle flowers.
-
Palate
A big, full-bodied whisky that coats the palate with a thick, almost oily texture. Bursting with tropical character—ripe mango, banana, and dragon fruit—bringing to mind the depth of a high ester rum. Creamy, buttery shortbread and zesty lemon rind come through, along with vanilla fudge and rich toffee. It’s like biting into a mango ice cream bar, brightened by a refreshing green apple sorbet. A journey of textures and tastes, where each sip reveals more.
-
Finish
A vibrant floral burst evolves seamlessly from the tropical notes, carrying them forward without losing their presence. Soft hints of Earl Grey tea lend an elegant touch, while black jelly beans bring a playful twist. A whisper of bagasse and earthy dunder notes creates a unique depth. Gentle oak with sweet, spiced tannins provides a steady backdrop, leading to a lingering blend of peach, lemon zest, and a touch of maple syrup - a beautifully balanced and satisfying conclusion.
